Priyama Majumdar is an applied microeconomist. Her research spans (i) political economy, where she studies how institutions shape policy choices; (ii) development and culture, where she studies how norms and informal institutions shape behavior; and (iii) gender, where she studies inequality within households and labor markets. Priyama uses experimental and observational methods, drawing on administrative data, text-as-data, and machine-learning tools. Her current projects focus on India, Denmark, and the United Kingdom.

She is a Postdoctoral Fellow at Princeton University and an Academic Visitor at the University of Oxford.
